Alice Limkakeng, CEO
Ms. Limkakeng has spent over 20 years building companies as a venture/growth equity investor and senior executive in the healthcare industry. Most recently, she was Chief Business Officer of Boston Heart Diagnostics—an integral member of the leadership team that drove multi-year, triple-digit growth where she led functions including business development, strategic initiatives, IT, marketing, product development and communications. Prior to Boston Heart, she was a senior investor at Bain Capital Ventures where she worked closely with healthcare entrepreneurs to build leading-edge businesses. Prior to Bain Capital, Ms. Limkakeng held leadership roles in sales and marketing at Guidant Corporation/Boston Scientific where she introduced new products, including the launch of the industry’s first remote patient management system. She has also served as strategic advisor to progressive patient engagement companies such as PatientsLikeMe and Breastcancer.org.
Ms. Limkakeng received her MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School, where she was designated a Baker Scholar. She received an undergraduate dual degree from the University of Pennsylvania (BS, magna cum laude, finance and accounting from Wharton; BA, magna cum laude, international relations from the College of Arts and Sciences).
Sal Rodas, Chief Product Officer
Throughout his career, Mr. Rodas has been a leader in bringing innovative solutions to market in the medical and dental sleep industries. As the Executive Director and Board Director of the Foundation for Airway Health, he continues to advocate for interdisciplinary collaboration on addressing breathing disorders. Most recently he led a sleep diagnostics company as Chief Operations Officer and then Chief Strategic Officer, and previously, he served as Chief Operations Officer for Space Maintainers Lab where he led the functions of operations, sales, marketing and service for dentist and orthodontist clients worldwide. At Space Maintainers Lab, Mr. Rodas also presided over the SMILE Foundation – though which he organized educational events with key opinion leaders in the dental community. Before entering the healthcare industry, Mr. Rodas led companies in the computer technology space where he developed innovative technology including 3D rendering technology and wearable devices for the dental industry. Mr. Rodas received his MBA and Bachelors of Information Technology from Babson College and proudly served as a US Marine.

Steve Carstensen, DDS, FAGD, D.ABDSM
Dr. Carstensen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine. He completed UCLA's Mini-Residency in Sleep and has been treating sleep apnea and snoring since 1998. Dr. Carstensen lectures internationally, directs sleep education at the Pankey Institute and is a guest lecturer at many recognized institutions including Spear Education, University of the Pacific and Louisiana State University Dental Schools. He has held leadership positions at American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) and was Chair of the 2010 American Dental Association (ADA) Annual Session. Since 2014 he has been Editor-in-Chief of Dental Sleep Practice Magazine. He co-founded Premier Sleep in Bellevue, WA, a practice devoted to helping people breathe better and sleep better.
Lou Shuman, DMD, CAGS
Dr. Shuman is CEO of Cellerant Consulting Group, known for his expertise in media and digital marketing, emerging technologies and strategic relations. He is a Board Director of the Foundation for Airway Health and a member of the Clinical Advisory Boards and Editorial Boards at Dentistry Today, Dental Products Report, Dental Practice Report, APEX 360, Orthodontic Practice US, The Progressive Dentist, Seattle Sleep Education LLC, as well as the Managing Editor of Dental Sleep Practice. He lectures extensively throughout the world and is the only dentist who has been selected both as a “Top CE Leader in Dentistry” and a “Leader in Dental Consulting” by Dentistry Today. Dr. Shuman served as President of Pride Institute for 6 years and is the creator of the prestigious Pride “Best of Class” Awards. Previously, he was Vice President of Clinical Education and Strategic Relations at Align Technology for 7 years. Dr. Shuman received his DMD degree and his Certificate in Advanced Graduate Studies in Orthodontics from Boston University School of Dental Medicine.
Jerald Simmons, MD, D.ABPN, D.ABSM, D.ABCN
Dr. Simmons is a triple board-certified neurologist, from Washington University, specializing in sleep disorders and epilepsy and did his sleep Fellowship training at Stanford University Medical Center. Dr. Simmons has founded, co-founded and held the directorship of several preeminent Sleep Disorder centers, including UCLA Sleep Disorder Center, UCLA Clinical Neurophysiology Laboratory, Memorial Hermann Sugar Land Hospital Sleep Disorders Center, The Sadler Clinic Sleep Disorders Center and Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates. He is an author of numerous publications in clinical journals including Sleep, Sleep Research, and Neurology, and the recipient of a variety of grants and funded research on topics related to sleep disorders. He is the Founding Director of the Sleep Education Consortium, a leading non-profit dedicated to educating both the medical and dental communities on working together to treat sleep disorders. Dr. Simmons currently directs Comprehensive Sleep Medicine Associates, a diagnostic and sleep therapy practice with locations throughout the greater Houston area and Austin, TX.
Rob Veis, DDS
Dr. Veis is the CEO of Space Maintainers Lab, a general dentist practicing since 1984, and a distinguished author and lecturer. Dr. Veis taught for 12 years at USC as a Clinical Professor in Restorative Dentistry and also served on the faculty of the Las Vegas Institute of Advanced Dental Studies. He is an internationally acclaimed lecturer on the topics of Dental Sleep Medicine, Orthodontics for the General Practice and Appliance Therapy, including lectures at UNLV, Columbia University, Loma Linda University and NYU. Dr. Veis is the co-author of The Principles of Appliance Therapy for Adults and Children – considered one of the definitive texts on the subject.
Marco Navarro, DDS, MS
Dr. Navarro is a practicing orthodontist specializing in sleep appliance therapy, TMJ and early growth and development intervention. He is a former faculty of orthodontics New York University and the University of Detroit Mercy, and he served as a part-time faculty member in the post-graduate orthodontic program at Autonomous University of Nuevo León. Dr. Navarro currently works as an Invited Teaching Fellow with University of Detroit Mercy and the AEO USA Roth/Williams Center for Functional Occlusion. He lectures nationally and internationally on emerging technologies and industry trends and is often sought out for his expertise in diagnosis and treatment planning.
